World Haemophilia Day 2026

The theme for World Haemophilia Day 2026 is "Diagnosis: First step to care.”

The Haemophilia Association of Mauritius (HAM) marked World Haemophilia Day on 10 April 2026 with a celebration at the Town Hall of the Municipality of Curepipe at 6:00 pm. The event brought together persons living with bleeding disorders, their families, healthcare professionals, and dignitaries, along with invited guests and members of the community.

In line with the global theme “Diagnosis — First Step to Care”, the programme focused on raising awareness about the importance of early diagnosis, timely medical management, and access to appropriate care for people affected by haemophilia and other bleeding disorders.

As part of the national solidarity initiative, the Town Hall was illuminated in red—a symbolic act carried out each year in Mauritius and worldwide to show support and strengthen public understanding of bleeding disorders.

HAM expressed its sincere gratitude to all participants, partners, and healthcare professionals for their continued commitment to improving awareness, reducing stigma, and supporting patients and families across Mauritius.
