June 30, 2019Welcome Selinda Kistan – HAM’s new Social Worker!
HAM is happy to welcome Ms. Selinda Kistan to its dedicated and hardworking team.
Selinda joins HAM as Outreach Social Worker and will be the liaison between the Association, its patients and their families: she will perform home visits, provide counselling services and refer patients to other service providers when needed.
Haemophilia is a disorder which affects the whole family, not only the patients themselves. One of HAM’s objective this year is to enhance its Outreach Program for the benefit of its patients. The Association believes that it is important to reach the families directly concerned in order to encourage them to seek professional help and join support groups. Outreach is also vital to gain accurate demographic knowledge about bleeding disorders within a population.
Selinda will be working closely with HAM’s staff members to find new patients with haemophilia or other inherited bleeding disorders who have not yet been diagnosed or are presently underserved by healthcare services. She will additionally analyse the situation of HAM’s current patients and their families with the aim of improving and promoting their physical and psychosocial health and quality of life.
HAM is thrilled to have Selinda on board and is looking forward to a long-term working collaboration for the benefit of its patients and their families.
